Professor George T.F. Wong’s Visit

Visitor Information: George T.F. Wong – The pioneer and driving force behind the South East Asian Time-series Study (SEATS).

Before returning to Taiwan, Professor Wong was a faculty member at Old Dominion University in the United States. During the National Center for Ocean Research (NCOR) era, he worked alongside the late Professor Kon-Kee Liu to co-establish SEATS, which became one of seven major international ocean time-series research stations. In 2004, he joined the Research Center for Environmental Changes (RCEC) at Academia Sinica as a Distinguished Research Fellow. Utilizing funding from both the Academia Sinica Thematic Project (AFOBi) and the NSTC Integrated Project (NoSoCS), he continued leading local scholars in South China Sea biogeochemical research, laying the groundwork for Tai-MOS.
